Christmas Humbug and Alice

Wed Dec 2, 2009, 9:53 AM
I can't help but have the 'humbug' spirit when it comes to Christmas and for the most part I blame my job for that. I usually can't wait for the holiday to be over and often grumble and complain until it is. So sue me.

However, what I'm more exicted about the the new Alice in Wonderland movie coming out. So exicted that my friend and I are going to dress up and go see it! I'm going as Alice, which is what I'm working on right now. >.< My friend is going as the Mad Hatter which we'll be working on off and on while working on my Alice. I'll make sure to post what pictures I can when it's finished.

That being said anyone who likes Alice in Wonderland might just like a manga called Heart no Kuni no Alice. It's really good!

From one cosplayer to another, your costumes and props rock! Also it's always good to find someone willing to expose their secrets. <3 the tutorials.
:iconanti-roxas-99:
Aww >D. Thanks for the great compliment xP. I think I need more helpful tutorials though. I don't think they are that great.

Just having pictures of the steps if very helpful! Trust me I've ready hundreds of tutorials. Some that are helpful other's that aren't so helpful. >.< Oh, I did have a question, any suggestions on a lighter material to use instead of plywood? Or would that be best?
:iconanti-roxas-99:
I use ply wood because of its strenght and durrability. Pine is a lighter and easier wood to start off with, but then u cant get as large sheets of it, it's more expensive, and also way more easy to break with a slight impact. Use styrafoam or pine wood as a starter to get you used to working with the stuff, then when you get into more complex things, go to ply wood, besides, you get used to the props weight after a while despite the fact it could way a ton.
